There are many types of hearing loss, each story is different.
Our well-being depends a lot on the rapport we build with friends and the ability we have to maintain that friendship. I am very fortunate to have developed over many years a lot of good relationships with local friends, colleagues, sports people, neighbours and other people I met in various travels. Some of them have told me that they also suffer from a loss of hearing and I hope that they will contribute to this blog. Listening to friends is both a joy and critical to our own well-being so I look forward to working with these precious relationships.
Both men and animals like to watch and listen to each other. I enjoyed watching the Serengeti on BBC – a series full of dramatic stories. For these animals, the ability to hear is simply a question of life and death. I am not expecting anything as dramatic but I would welcome your own stories about hearing loss and how you are managing it.
Richard’s story
Richard is a friend I have known for over 20 years, we completed many runs together including the London Marathon (okay, that was a long time ago) and we have raised funds for charity together.
Richard … a story to come!
